Rates & Insurance

$200 per hour for most services if you do not want me to file for insurance reimbursement. The exceptions to this cash-pay hourly fee are the fees for an Intake or Initial Session for Individual Therapy, the cost of which is $220 per hour, and the Intake or Initial Session for Couple's Therapy, the cost of which is $240 per hour. The cost for Couple's Therapy sessions beyond the first session is $220. When you arrive for your first appointment, you will receive a document that outlines Dr. Rand's fees for specific situations in greater detail. Rates and fees are subject to change at any time. Please call our office at 480.466.7010 for the most up-to-date fee schedule.

Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:

  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
  • What is my deductible and has it been met?
  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
  • Is approval required from my primary care physician

Cash, checks, and several major credit cards are accepted for payment if you are not using insurance.

Duration of sessions
If you plan to pay for services using insurance, the duration of your sessions will be based on your insurance carrier's policies. If you plan to use credit card, check, or cash to pay for your sessions (i.e., no insurance), the duration of each session will be approximately 60 minutes (the exact time to be determined by the psychologist); the rate will be $200 per session of 60 minutes or less. Credit card, cash, and check payment methods for sessions extending over the 60-minute limit will be prorated by 15-minute increments according to Dr. Rand's hourly rate of $200 ($220 for Couple's Therapy).

Cancellation Policy
Dr. Rand reserves your appointment time specifically for you and you alone. As a courtesy to those who are on the waiting list, please call at least 24 hours, or 1 business day, before your appointment to cancel. (For example, if your appointment is on Monday at 3:00pm, please call no later than the previous Friday at 3:00pm to cancel.) If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment, and you have not notified us at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session.

Late Arrivals

If you arrive late for your appointment, Dr. Rand will be able to see you for only the remaining allotted time left of your scheduled appointment, assuming that the time remaining is still of a period of time payable by your insurance.
